Graphite Heat Exchangers

Graphilor Cylindrical Block Heat Exchanger Data

- EXPLANATION of Typical Model Number - Example Model 2430-5 broken down as follows :
  • 24 = Diameter of graphite core. In this example, 24" diameter graphite core. Other options,
    12", 16" and 30"
  • 3 = Number of equivalent 14 " sections in heat transfer core. In this example, 3 cylinder
    sections. Available - 1 to 7 sections.
  • 0-5 = Diameter of process holes. In this example, 1/2" diameter process holes. Other options
    - 3/8" (0-38) and 3/4" (0-75).

+ Applications for Models with 3/8" Process Holes:

    • Use for heating, cooling and condensing.
    • For maximum heat transfer area per shell size.
    • Maximum allowable working pressure - 100 PSIG process side and 100 PSIG
      service side.

+ Applications for Models with 1/2" Process Holes:

    • Use for heating, cooling and condensing.
    • Larger hole size where potential fouling may exist.
    • Maximum allowable working pressure - 100 PSIG process side and 100 PSIG
      service side.

+ Applications for Models with 3/4" Process Holes:

    • Use for evaporation and condensing.
    • Affords more cross-sectional flow area where pressure drop may be a problem.
    • Maximum allowable working pressure - 100 PSIG process side and 100 PSIG
      service side.
